What is the Tourist Council of San Miguel de Allende?


It is a decentralized organism of the public administration, based on the Spanish tourist systems known as Tourist Clusters. Our main objective is to join efforts and knowledge of both the private sector and the municipal and state authorities related to the tourism sector to improve customer service and give you the best of travel experiences, through a high quality application and professionalism to innovate and permanently improve the service.

One of the main objectives is to work as a team to position San Miguel de Allende as a premium, competitive and sustainable destination in order to increase tourism demand, increase hotel occupancy, diners and buyers of tourism products and services that translates into a better profitability of the destination improving the quality of life of its inhabitants.


Who is the Tourist Council?


For the Public Secto:


The Municipal President, The Department of Environment and Ecology, The Directorate of Education and Culture, The Directorate of Economic Development and International Relations, A Member of the City Council, A Representative of the Undersecretary of Tourism Development of the State of Guanajuato.


For Private Initiative:


Mexican Association of Hotels and Lodging Establishments of San Miguel de Allende, Gto., A.C., CANIRAC, AHSMA, Real Estate, Guides and Tourist Transport.


How is its Heritage set up?


The current expenditure of the operating office is 100% subsidized by the municipality. The budget for promotion and development is a cooperative scheme as follows: Private Initiative, Municipality and State Tourism.

 

 

How is this resource used?

 

The resource is used to promote San Miguel de Allende as a destination as a whole, as well as the services offered by the members of this council, through instruments such as: guides, maps, promotional material, souvenirs and digital tools such as the website www.visitsanmiguel.travel and social networks like Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and more.

Instruments that are distributed in the information office, where the visitor makes the first contact with the city, tools that promote the tourist offer throughout the year.

In meetings with travel agents we deliver material, as well as promotional events, whether meetings, leisure, luxury, adventure, wellness, among others.
Without leaving aside the Media Plan that is carried out through a cooperative plan with the Tourism Promotion Council both nationally and internationally in newspapers and magazines.

It is important to mention that the budget includes support for cultural and gastronomic festivals such as Chamber Music Festival, Jazz and Blues Festival, Wool and Brass Fair, Vendimia, El Cordero Festival and mezcal, among others .

In the same way we are developing new products. Focusing on the work plan, which is developed in conjunction with the Private Initiative, meeting the needs of the tourism sector, based on 4 main axes.
