MUSEUM HOUSE OF IGNACIO ALLENDE

This baroque two-story building dates from the 18th century and, with its complex work of stone and wrought iron, is a magnificent example of the houses built by the rich Spanish nobility. It was the birthplace of the Generalissimo Don Ignacio Allende and nowadays it functions as a museum with exhibitions that tell us about the role of Allende in the War of Independence, the history and archeology of the region.

The mask ceremonies date from pre-Hispanic times and have an important role in the social and religious life of many Mexicans even today. A collection of more than 500 masks, which have been used in ceremonies, rituals, parties and more. The visit is made only by appointment (415) 154 4324.

This center was originally the cloister of the neighboring convent; Today it is part of the National Institute of Fine Arts (INBA) and is known in San Miguel simply as "Fine Arts". The center offers painting, drawing, sculpture, music and dance; and is famous for its unfinished mural of the famous Mexican muralist David Alfaro Siqueiros, former teacher of the institution. The complex houses an exhibition hall and an auditorium.

LA AURORA FACTORY

After being for nine decades an important engine for the labor sector in the textile industry, the walls of the Aurora Factory house galleries, art studios, jewelers, designer shops and antiques. In this art and design center you can see the work of many artists: there are about 50 galleries, as well as antique shops, a couple of restaurants and cafes. In this large place you will see some of the machines and pipes that formed part of the textile factory. It has parking but, if you decide to walk from the Main Garden, it will only take you about 15 minutes of walking.

This neoclassical mansion was the home of the rich and influential family of the Canal. Its huge carved door (located on the Canal Street) is proof not only of the ability of the colonial cabinet makers but also of the status that the family considered to have, here you can appreciate an exhibition of Banamex culture house. Nowadays it is a bank branch.
